Our vision for Walyo Yerta Community Garden is of an inclusive space for gathering, creativity, celebration and healing. Enjoyed as a tranquil haven or vibrant focus of activity, it is a unique place for learning and fun.

Open Hours

9am – 11am Tuesday & Thursday
9am – 12noon Sunday

Membership

• Anyone can join – you don’t have to be a city resident, you can download the Membership Form here (71Kb PDF file)
• An annual membership fee of $10/$5 concession (no-one will be prevented from participating due to lack of finances)
• Gardeners will be issued with an annual membership card
• Membership entitles the individual to take part in all gardening activities and workshops, and to share in any produce grown in the garden

Opportunities for Learning

• Our members are a delightful mix of novices and experienced gardeners
• Informal learning takes place at every session as gardeners interact
• From time to time we organise more formal workshops where you can learn specific skills

An Organic Garden

• The garden is run on organic principles and practice
• There will be no use of chemical fertilisers, insecticides, or weed-killers
• Where possible, plants, and seeds will be obtained from organically grown stock
