Gilbert Street IGA Supermarket offers a wide range of quality fresh produce including Dairy from local regional areas, fresh local fruit and veg, bakery and a busy lunch bar making delicious gourmet baguettes, steak sandwiches etc.

The recent addition of a quality Butcher and a stylish restaurant/ bistro DELISH have provided a unique local shopping experience.

Peter and Marilyn Kaitatizis set up Gilbert Street IGA in early 2001. Some people thought they were crazy choosing that particular location.

Peter had a passion for his local area. He was born and raised in Sturt Street, went to Adelaide High and later Teacher College in Gilbert Street. After setting up a Real East business in Gilbert Street and raising a family with Marilyn from the same Bluestone Villa. He had felt that the area lacked retail services so found suitable location in his street and opened first IGA Supermarket in the city.
